I love this detergent! It only takes a little (I use 1 pump in my extra large capacity machine), gets our clothes clean (even the 5 & 3 yr olds haha), and is so gentle on our extra sensitive skin! Our clothes hold their color, don't look worn & faded, and are soft!
For several months I've been trying out different "clean" laundry detergents and someone suggested Allen's Naturally. I started out with a sample size (I love that option, by the way) and had great success with it so I jumped right in and went for the big container! It has a nice, subtle scent and it cleans amazingly well. I don't use it for cloth diapering and my family doesn't really have any sensitivities so I can't comment on that, but I can tell you that my this detergent cleans all my husband's filthy clothes! This detergent works as good or better than the big name detergents and doesn't cost tons more like other natural detergents. I also really like the limiter because my husband has a tendency to overuse detergent! The icing on the cake is that it's a Michigan-based business and I'm supporting my home state!
We've been using Allen's for 11 years. We have allergies, so Allen's deep cleaning and clean rinsing are very important to us. I love that it leaves the laundry smelling clean and fresh, with no odors or scents. I hate the smell off the usual supermarket laundry products. And it's so economical. it really does do 512 loads of laundry.
I have used this for over 10 years everyday. We can't use anything else because it hurts our skin now. We love this detergent!
We have used Allen's Naturally Liquid Laundry Detergent on our Bum genius cloth diapers for nine months now, and we love it! Just one pump gets the job done -- the diapers are clean (we have not had any staining so far) and odorless (we have only had to strip the diapers once). I purchased it because I read it worked well for cloth diapers, but we like it so much that I now use it for all of our laundry (clothes, linens, etc), and it works fabulously -- everything comes out perfectly clean and odorless. Also, I have *extremely* sensitive skin, and have not experienced any irritation issues. We are still working through our first bottle (I definitely recommend purchasing the pump -- it'll make it last forever!), but we will definitely repurchase.
This product has been a boon for me since I have severe MCS. For a batch of new clothes, I wash them once then put them in a drum with 1 qt per 30 gallons and soak for 1 month, stirring weekly. After 4 rinse cycles I can then wear them. It works great in hard water, and is good for washing out fragrances and such as well. Best laundry product I've found in 30 years; I've been using it for about 20 years. I've tried many others and they just don't clean as well.
I've been using this detergent on cloth diapers since my oldest daughter (almost 6) was born. I started using it on our clothes around the same time because it made sense to use it on everything. Not only does it work great, I love that it's natural (I used to have eczema/skin sensitivities) and it lasts a really long time for our family of 4! I also use it on my massage linens for work, and it gets the oil out without leaving any residue. It's the BEST!
